This shawl is inspired by the flower windows of the Forbidden City, divided into two sections.
One part features a crochet pattern resembling the lattice design of the Hall of Supreme Harmony, with its three-cross and six-petal rhombus pattern, further accentuated by a carefully selected color palette that presents a vibrant, luminous effect. The other section boasts a diagonal grid pattern, where the openwork lace exudes elegance and refinement.

In the architectural aesthetics of the Forbidden City, the three-cross six-petal rhombus pattern symbolizes the harmony of heaven and earth, representing all directions, and signifies the union of heaven and earth giving birth to all things. Our aim through this design is to integrate traditional Chinese aesthetic elements into everyday life.

This shawl offers two distinct ways to wear it – simply flip it upside down to achieve two unique visual effects, effectively turning one piece into two. It adds a touch of charm to your outings while also serving as a stylish cover-up in air-conditioned rooms, combining functionality with elegance.

The crocheting guidance will guide you step by step through completing this project, and we hope that during the process, you discover even more joy in the colors and stitching techniques used.
