Sparsis Floribus
This light and bright springtime shawl is inspired by the flowers that were scattered on the street ahead of the cart carrying Cybele’s sacred stones as it was driven into Rome.
Ipse sedens plaustro porta est invecta Capena:
Sparguntur iunctae flore recente boves.
She rode enthroned in a cart through the Porta
Capena, her ox-team strewn with fresh flowers.
Ovid Fasti IV lines 345 - 346
