Special moment dress
Design:
The pretty lace at the bottom of the lower body and sleeves gives this little sweetie everything needed for a special moment-dress:)
The dress is A-line for easy wear. The upper body is shaped using raglan-decreases which ensures a really good fit.
The neckline is deeper on the front than the back.
Construction:
The construction is completely seamless.
The lower body is worked bottom-up and in-the-round to underarms, featuring 3 sections: one of lace, 2 of stockinette.
The A-line shape is created by 2 decrease-rounds only, which makes this a very easy knit!
The sleeves are worked bottom-up and in-the-round to underarms.
Sleeves and body are joined, and upper body is worked in one piece to the neckline. The neckline is shaped by working back and forth over sleeves and back.
Materials
Yarn: I used “Alpakka” from Sandnes Garn to work the dress. This DK weight yarn comes in balls of 50 gr/1.76 oz and 110 m/120 yards. You will need 2/3/3/4/4/5 balls of this specific yarn to work the dress. I recommend that you use a DK weight yarn that knits up to gauge. Needles: circular needles, 40 cm/16” and 60 cm/24”, size 3.5 mm/US4 to work the lower and upper body. A set of 5 dpns, size 3.5 mm/US4 to work the sleeves. Use needle size to obtain gauge. Notions: 4 removable stitch-markers. Separate holders. Tapestry needle. Blocking tools.

Age: 3 mo / 6 mo – 9 mo / 12 mo / 18 mo – 2 years / 2 – 3 years / 4 years Finished chest circumference: 42/49/53/56/60/63.5 cm = 16.5/19.25/21/22/23.5/25” cm/16” and 60 cm/24”, size 3.5 mm/US4 to work the lower and upper body. A set of 5 dpns, size 3.5 mm/US4 to work the sleeves. Use needle size to obtain gauge. Notions: 4 removable stitch-markers. Separate holders. Tapestry needle. Blocking tools.
