PATTERN STORY
I wanted something big and bold and loud that was engaging to knit and a bit out there. This is a great way to use up some of those single skeins, an advent or some stash and have fun doing it.

Judy’s magic cast on, kitchener stitch, colorwork, and knitting in the round

This project is suitable for an adventurous beginner.

CONSTRUCTION
The sample is knit in the round from end to end.

PATTERN NOTES

  • This pattern is constructed around using as much of a 50g ball of yarn as possible. You can play with the amount of rows in a repeat for this.
  • For the fingering weight version you can determine this by knitting until you have used 12g of each color of the yarn and that will be your row number.
  • For the DK weight version you can determine this by knitting until you have used 16g of each color of the yarn and that will be your row number.
  • To change the width, you can add / remove repeats from the colorwork chart, as they are all 6 st increments.
  • It is recommended to weave in ends as you go.
  • You can always shorten the scarf to make a cowl version. To do so, do a provisional cast on, and kitchener sitch the cowl together when you knit it to your preferred length.
  • Sample is knit without catching floats.
