This guide contains instructions for making a spell poppet. Two variations are included; one that’s filled as you go, and one that has a hole in its stomach, so you can make the base poppet ready, decorate it as you wish, and then fill it as part of a spell later.

The whole poppet consists of only single crochet stitches, with a few chains at the arms. Other needed techniques are only increasing and decreasing, and the ability to count a few stitches to skip when making the legs and arms. When made with worsted yarn weight, the resulting poppet measures about
13,5cm/5.3 inches.

This tutorial contains the pattern for the base poppet. The decoration is left to the discretion of the crocheter, but a short section on ideas for poppet decoration & filling is found at the end of the pattern.
