Sphinx
Started as an idea, to construct a shawl with a non traditional construction style, Sphinx is just that. A bold center cable, with smaller cables, and twisted stitches, all incorporated into the center first design.
“Sphinx came from it’s kind of sand like color and it’s little “tail tip” that make me think of a desert cat. I immediately thought of the amazing Sphinx that sits in Egypt, and so the shawl became a Sphinx. “
Materials:
Approximately 600-720 Yards of a sport weight yarn.
2 Skeins of Madelinetosh Pashmina (75/15/10 Merino/Silk/Cashmere; 360 Yards/Skein)
Colorway Shown: Antique lace
Needles:
U.S. 4 (3.25mm) or size needed to obtain gauge
Gauge:
24 Sts x 40 Rows = 4” in Unblocked Stockinette
20 Sts x 36 Rows = 4” in Blocked Stockinette

Designer Notes:
The cables in this pattern are only charted.
If you would like to make the shawl larger you can use a DK or worsted weight yarn. It’s recommended to choose a semi solid to solid yarn in order to show off the cables of the shawl.
