This cowl was designed to have a special shape that I love with cowls:

• First, the top edge is narrower than the bottom edge.
• Second, its front is significantly longer than the back, to keep the front neck warm, even with low-cut tops.

This is achieved by combining 3 different stitch patterns:

• one with slip stitches which contracts the back neck section,
• Stockinette for the front (starting with 1 stitch only to generate a tip)
• and Garter for the transition sections in between.

Looking towards Spring, I am using my favorite yarn called “Pinta” by my favorite hand-dyer Skudderia.
If you are more the super-sensitive Cashmere type, you could go for Ruppert Garne Lacashmi instead.

Gauge
My sample was knitted at a gauge of 28 sts x 40 rows (for the Stockinette parts).
As there are many people around who are looser knitter than me (and also lots of knitters prefer using thicker yarn), I have included instructions for 4 different gauges, in a range from 30 to 24 sts on 10cm.

Approximately 200m of the main and 150m of the contrast color.
