Spiced Biscuits Blanket

This pattern is written in English and it contains step by step photos.

This blanket is full of colour and texture. I called this blanket the Spiced Biscuits Blanket because it reminds me of beautifully decorated colourful spiced biscuits, which I remember from my childhood. When you start working your squares and you complete the first four rounds, you will see what I mean, it does look like a biscuit.

Skill level: Intermediate

Materials:

1. DK/light worsted yarn, 10 x 100g balls in five colours. This particular blanket used Stylecraft Special DK yarn in: white, parchment, gold, duck egg, burgundy.
2. 4mm (US G/6) crochet hook
3. Yarn needle
4. Scissors

I used five colours of DK/light worsted yarn, however this blanket could be worked in as little as two colours, or even one, or it could be a great stash buster. The finished blanket measures 120cm x 120cm, and weighs approx. 912g. I used 2675m/2925yards of yarn.

The size of this blanket can be easily adapted, to either make it smaller or bigger. There are a couple of options:

1. Adjust the number of squares you make, e.g. instead of 8 rows by 8 rows (64 squares) like in the original blanket, you could go with 7 rows by 7 rows (49 squares) for a smaller size (finished blanket would approx. measure 110cm x 110cm) or 10 rows by 10 rows (100 squares) for a bigger blanket (finished blanket would approx. 140cm x 140cm) .
2. Adjust the size of the border, I added notes within the pattern to indicate at which point to adjust the border.

Both options will work just as well.
