This pattern is one in a series of small Shetland triangle scarves. This project is the perfect size for trying a new stitch or technique. The border and lace edging charts in this series are designed to be swapped easily with each other. You just follow the instructions under the heading for the border or the lace that you want to knit from any pattern in the series and they will work together perfectly. An increase row worked after the border but before the lace effortlessly eases the lace edging around the bottom point of the triangle. This construction method gives no tight edges to the knitting which makes it easier to block and shape.
