Gauge is not at all important for this project. You can use any weight yarn; however, to get the desired effect, it’s best to use a large hook, and lace or gossamer weight yarn. It creates a really open and light shawl that really just floats behind you.

A cute way to keep it wrapped around your shoulders is to cut a slit into the ring part of those rings with spiders on them and put the two edges inside the ring so that the ring becomes a clasp and looks like the spider is holding the web for you.
