Spiderweb Mitts
This is a fully adaptable design to create a bracelet that closes with a button, then a spiderweb to fit the back of your hand and attach to the bracelet. It’s written to fit my hand/wrist, with in-depth notes on how to fit it to yourself along the way. The spiderweb has the structural integrity to resist being pulled out of shape, allowing it to rest against your hand without being uncomfortable, and the bracelet provides gentle support without being skin-tight.
The pattern is available for free on my blog and with a complete YouTube tutorial where I create one in its entirety. You can also purchase a PDF, which has photos along with an overview diagram, to replace the video.
What I love about making these is that I can get one to fit my hand precisely, and I can change the bracelet style, too! This is a great starting point to customize to suit your specific hand or even to attach to another garment or bracelet you already have. As long as you can stitch thread to it, you can figure out how to adapt your tension and make a cool spiderweb version.
Materials:
Size 10 crochet thread
1.5mm crochet hook
Button for each mitt (about 1cm diameter)
Scissors, needle for finishing, and optional stitch marker
That’s it!
