Spiked Tunisian Washcloth
The Spiked Tunisian Washcloth is just that – a washcloth worked in Tunisian Crochet with an interesting spike stitch decoration.
Yarn: Patons Cotton On 8 ply, DK, 100% cotton, 117 yards (107 m)/ 50 g.
The sample used 26 g. 60 yards (56 m) in two different colours (approx. 20 g/ 46 yards (43 m) of colour one and 6 g/ 14 yards (13 m) of colour two).
Hook: US E-4, UK 9, 3. 5 mm.
The cloth can be made with any cotton yarn and an appropriately sized hook. Tunisian Crochet is typically made with a larger hook than you would usually use for the yarn, however to ensure a dense fabric I used a hook within the size range recommended for the yarn.
Gauge: The gauge is not crucial for this design.
As measured on the unblocked sample:
2 inches (5 cm) = 9 stitches X 10 rows (vertical bars) in TSS.
Finished Size: The sample is 6 inches square
