Spikey
Who hasn’t been inspired by dinosaurs at one time or another in their life? This series of hats is simultaneously inspired and (hopefully) inspiring to others. Call them “Dino Hats” or “Dragon hats” but definitely make one for all your beastie-loving family and friends!
The pattern will start by making a simple beanie hat, with a change in routine every-so-often to add waste yarn where the spikes will go later. After the hat is done, you will pick out the waste yarn, one bit at a time, to add a spike.
Approximate yardage for hat portion:
50(60, 70) grams Aran weight yarn
Approximate yardage for spikes:
30 (45, 65) grams Aran weight yarn
You will also need a small ball of smooth, strong waste yarn of the same gauge.
