My brain started spinning when I read the label of the gorgeous Blue-faced Leicester: “Spun in our mills…”. The irregular verb spin span spun (hard lessons to learn in the englishclasses a long time ago) popped up in my head and I started sketching on an irregular vest. And this assymetrically buttoned vest is the result.
So comfortable, warming, relaxed, yet elegant to wear. I find it to be a real staple in the wardrobe - as I can mix it with so many different styles and colors. It is really up to my mood how I want to present my new vest! With a silkblouse, a cotton henley, a polo-neck a beautiful scarf…. I can make a new look for every day of the week!
The knitting itself is interesting as well, as the simple stripe-pattern goes quickly but still wants you to go further, and further… The assymetrical fronts adds to the interest using decreases, increases and buttonholes. The pieces are knitted seperately and seamed together and the button-bands are integrated in the knitting, which means less finishing work.
I used a Blue-faced Leicester wool to work my vest - it can be bought through Etsy-shop Laal-bear.
You can substitute it for another wool as long as you respect the gauge.

In a weeks time it will be a sleeved version available. If you buy the vest-pattern now I will provide you with the sleeved version at no extra cost when it’s due.
