Spindleberry hat
The fruits of the Spindle tree are a such fabulous colour, and their four-fold symmetry is echoed in the design for the Spindleberry hat. It is a slightly slouchy hat in aran-weight yarn, finished off with a light bobble in the three colours used for the hat.
I knitted it in the round using Snaeldan 3-ply Fleece white yarn, a pure wool yarn that I love, and Navia trio for the beautiful colours of Rust and Cerise; I used less than 40 g of the Fleece white background colour, and less than 15 g each of the Cerise and the Rust.
The hat measures about 21.5 cm from hem to crown, with a circumference of about 49 cm. The tension is 20 sts = 10 cm on size 6 mm needles.
