Years ago, I had designed a sweater similar to this and have always really liked that design, wanting to recreate it. This is one of those pieces that, when worked in a cotton or linen blend yarn, is perfect for warmer weather.

Whenever I need to choose a variety of stitch patterns, I always like to use those where I can use multiple repeats to create a single chart to work from, even if the chart does become a little big. In this design, the center panel has a 28-row repeat, but when you double that to 56 rows, the panel with an 8-row repeat will fit neatly into the larger repeat, giving you a single repeat of all the stitch patterns without the need for separate charts of each panel, making it much easier to work from.
