Spiral Baby Blanket
This is a beautiful and unique blanket, would make a great baby shower gift.
While this is very easy and quick to make, it does require a lot of counting in order to keep track of where you are at. There are actually only 4 rounds and 40 rows in this blanket.
Skill level: easy, for experienced beginners to intermediate
Pattern is in US terminology.
Pattern starts in the round and is then worked side to side in such a way that it forms a circle that is then seamed together with whip stitches.
Make it all in one color, 2 colors, or multiple colors, have some fun and experiment.

2 diagrams are included one on page 2 that shows rounds 1-4, another on page 5 that shows the beginning chain and rows 1-4 of the blanket, repeat rows 2&3 for pattern.
Materials:
Baby sport yarn, 10.5 oz/1077 yds (sample made using Bernat baby sport)
Hook size I US, 5.5 mm
Yarn needle
Stitch markers (optional)
Gauge:
Rnds 1-4 measure 4 ½” in diameter
Finished Measurements:
40” in diameter
Stitches used:
Slip stitch=sl st, chain= ch, single crochet =sc, half double crochet=hdc, double crochet=dc

Skills used:
