A fun, twirling Christmas tree for your Christmas tree!
This pattern comes with instructions for the tree and for 2 optional add-ons: adding bells & a bow and adding beads.

Written in: US terms

Difficulty: Beginner

Materials Needed:
40-45 yards of worsted weight yarn
- I used Big Twist Value in Varsity Green
4mm hook
Scissors
Stitch Marker(s)
Yarn needle
If you choose an add-on, you will also need:
--> Bells and a Bow: (2) 0.6 inch bells and (2) 12 inch strands of yarn in color of your choice.
--> Beads: 21-22 acrylic beads of your choice between 4-8mm

Gauge: Gauge is not important.

Size:
Mine measured 2.75 in. at its largest width & 5 in. tall, not including the hanger

To make a different size, you can use other yarn weights & hook sizes. To help the spiral keep its shape, use a hook that is 0.5mm to 1mm smaller than the yarn’s recommended hook size.

Abbreviations:
Ch(s) -- chain(s)
DC -- double crochet
HDC -- half double crochet
SC -- single crochet
SM -- stitch marker
Sl st -- slip stitch
St(s) -- stitch(es)

Pattern Notes:

  • When working your rows, your tree may become wonky and twisted. That’s normal. Simply finish your row(s), then untwist it until it forms the spirals.
  • The ch 1 at the beginning of each row does not count as a stitch.
  • The final stitch count for each row is at the end of the row in bold. A breakdown of how many of each stitch you should have for each row follows the total stitch count.
  • To help count the stitches for each stitch type (i.e. sl st, SC, HDC, DC), place a stitch marker in the first stitch of each stitch type so you know where to start and end counting.
  • Keep your tension loose for the sl sts so they’re easier to sl st into in the following row.
