Traditional men’s kilt hose worked in a worsted or medium weight sport yarn, with a simple to work but fancy looking crossed stitch spiral rib worked around the cuff and then in columns down each side of the leg. The spiral rib is then split in half at the heel flap divide and worked as a two stitch twist mock cable down the sides of the foot. Seed stitch rib columns are worked down the leg, heel flap, and
foot.

Sizing Notes: Sizes are based on the yarn weight and gauge, and which set of numbers are used. In this way, 3
sizes can be made using the two sets of numbers in the pattern. If you use worsted weight yarn and the smaller
numbers, or sport weight yarn and the larger numbers, you will make the standard medium width sock. If you
use the thicker worsted weight yarn and the larger set of numbers, you will make the largest width sock. If you
use the thinner sport weight yarn and the smaller set of numbers, you will make the narrowest width sock.
Socks are best knit with slight negative ease, so if between sizes, choose a smaller size. With any choice,
adjust lengths of Leg and Foot to desired lengths where stated in pattern.
