The Spirit Sands delta region of Manitoba, Canada was created over 15,000 years ago, as retreating glacial waters formed this unique inland sandy region.
Take a stroll through the cacti-covered sand dunes to see the eerie pool of blue-green water in the Devil’s Punch Bowl.

This is the third pattern in the Manitoba Collection, a series of patterns inspired by various locations throughout the province of Manitoba, Canada.

The repeating purl stitches are reminiscent of the sand dunes of this area, interspersed with meandering lace-patterned trails. All this cascades downward to culminate in a visually intriguing lace work section. This was the inspiration behind this cowl.

Size: Small (40 inch blocked diameter), Medium (44 inch blocked diameter), and large (48 inch blocked diameter)

Yarn: 576, 691, 806 metres (630, 755, 881 yards) of any lace weight yarn. Pictured is 1, 1.2, 1.4 skeins of JaggerSpun Superfine Merino in Colour 11 (White)

Needles: US 2 (2.75mm) circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge: 10 sts and 16 rows = 2 x 2 inch square ( gauge measured for top purl section).

Both written and charted instructions are included. Easily adaptable to a smaller/larger size as well as for a wider/more narrow fit.
