Splash!!!
This pattern consists of a spiral and 7 “legs”. The spiral is done in the round, but to make legs you have to turn your work after each row.
I made the Splash!!! carpet and a coaster using different weights of string.
To make the carpet (approx. 140x135 cm) you will need:
- approximately 600 meters of cotton string 4 or 5 mm thick,
- a 9 mm crochet hook – it’s the M or N size in the US,
- about 6 hours of your time.
The coaster (approx. 77x72 cm) requires:
- about 300 meters of cotton string 2 mm thick,
- a 5 mm crocheting hook – it’s size H in the US,
- about 3-4 hours of your time.
No matter what string you use, remember one important thing: the crochet hook needs to be twice as thick as the string! Otherwise your work will come out crooked, it will also wobble or buckle.
