Splash Cardigan
The Knits That Breathe ebook is available for purchase and instant download now from Ravelry. Or, order the paperback version from Amazon, your LYS, or on my website.
This raglan-shouldered, lace front cardigan is worked back and forth from the top down. Pima cotton and bamboo fibers combine to create a soft and smooth, blissfully cool yarn that offers fantastic stitch definition, and results in a nearly seamless design that skims the body gracefully. Elbow-length sleeves are bordered in a single, slightly flared repeat of the front lace motif, and can be worked to ¾ or full length according to the preference of the wearer. Fasten Splash with a shawl pin or a favorite brooch, or let it cascade open.
Pattern Notes
There is no waist shaping in Splash, and it is meant to be worn with positive ease. Faux side “seams” are created in the lower body on Right Side rows, by slipping one stitch with the yarn in back at each side marker. The cotton/bamboo fiber blend is stretchy but non-elastic, so it will “grow” with wear and should be stored folded and flat rather than on a hanger. Both written row-by-row and charted directions are included for the Lace pattern.
