This pattern has been discontinued whilst I update the doll pattern. I’m working as fast as I can , however it may take a while.

Josie has her own mermaid tail blanket to snuggle in or play dress up with her best friend Jesse. (He has a shark tail blanket- available in a separate pattern)

Her blanket has a full flowing mermaids’ fin and a cosy blanket body worked in a simple lace stitch fish scale design.

This version was knitted in a green aqua shade double knit, any green, blue, purple or even stripes would look fantastic too, making this blanket a good stash buster.

The ribbed fish tail is knitted first and the body of the blanket is flat knitted up from the tail with a back seam- Picked up stitches are used to join the tail and the body section, if you prefer you can make each piece separately and sew them together later.

You can easily adjust the length of the blanket to fit dolls other than Josie by knitting fewer or more repeats of the lace pattern. To help you with sizing for other dolls, Josie is 40cm/ 15.5” tall and her waist is 28cm/ 11”

This pattern uses a very simple lace stitch – If you have not worked a lace pattern before it is a great introduction to this technique. I explain how to work both Yarn over and Yarn around, my line by line instructions makes this 4 row lace pattern easy.
