Here I have crocheted around an actual branch/twig (it sometimes take a little while to find just the right one) so I recommend creating all the characters to attach while you are looking. I love doing this, every creation will be different. Normally I add birds, nests, squirrels and all things you might find in a tree. Here I have created a Spooky Halloween version. It’s great fun to make and I have really enjoyed writing it up for you to try too. I really hope you enjoy it too.

I haven’t given yardage because each character uses only relatively small amounts of yarn. The only yarn I really recommend you get is Stylecraft Special dk - Sandstone, which makes an excellent bark effect for the Tree. You need a mottled brown. Grey may work too.

For the cobweb I have used a metallic yarn and 3mm hook
