Spooky Pumpkin Mitts
October is finally here and I’m already looking forward to Halloween. It’s my favourite holiday, so I designed matching mitts to get in the spooky mood.
These fingerless mitts are knitted bottom-up and the construction is fairly straightforward. However, a basic skill level of stranded colourwork is recommended.
You can use 2 or 3 different colours.
Techniques used:
Twisted stitches (optional)
Stranded colourwork
Basic increases and decreases
I-cord bind off (optional)
Picking up stitches
The sizing of the mitts depends on the chosen gauge.
I used 2.5 mm needles (US 1.5) and got a gauge of 34 st. / 10 cm (4’’). This gives me a hand circumference of 19 cm (7.5’’).
To make bigger or smaller mitts, choose a different needle size to get a bigger or smaller gauge.
This is my very first published pattern. I’m no professional designer, so please be gentle with your feedback. ;)
