A cabled scarf of spoons! It can be knit with a sufficient quantity of any yarn.

When Complexly video editor Maia Ledesma posted a Tweet that read “Please send spoons,” I needed a crash course in what this expression means. Popular spoon theory uses spoons and what they can hold (or not hold) as a metaphor for thinking about a person’s capacity for demands that can arise from different sources and as the result of their different roles. I decided to respond with warmth and best wishes by knitting spoons into a soft wool scarf. Worked tail up, or in two halves that are knitted separately starting at the ends before they are joined at the center with kitchener stitch, this pattern is a tribute to the hard work that Maia and so many other people put into to making YouTube videos during the annual Project for Awesome and throughout the year.

This pattern supports the Project for Awesome (P4A)

Please note: the pattern is not a Ravelry download; it is a digital perk dispersed by Complexly, LLC and P4A.
