Pattern in English is available.
This is a pattern for the advanced knitter.
Traditional Orenburg lace patterns are used in the charts, but I created them in a classical way to shows decreases. In traditional Orenburg charts only yarn-over’s would be shown.
This is a pattern for the advanced knitter.
1) Square shawl – 225 sts wide (edging not included); Chart A, A1.
2) Large square shawl – 321 sts wide; Chart B, B1.
3) Stole, variant 1 – 153 sts wide; Chart C (optional length with 37 or 41 edge repeats).
4) Stole, variant 2 – 185 sts wide; Chart D (optional length with 43 or 47 edge repeats).
Approximate yarn utilization, with 10% shrinkage in parentheses, for yarn, 800 m/ 720 yds in 100g):
• Chart A – about 1560m / 1404 yds,
• Chart B – about 2950m / 2650 yds,
• Chart C – 1543m / 1400 yds,
• Chart D – 1930m / 1740 yds.
I used up 300gr = about 1800m / 1968 yds of 1C68 by Orenshal (50% Other, 40% Wool, 10% Acrylic, 600 m/ 656 yds in 100gr) for the square A_spring_28x28.pdf. Average size after blocking is 117 x 117 cm. Needle US 1½ - 2.5 mm.
Needles: The pattern book suggests using size 00 or 2 (1.75 or 2.75 mm) needles.
Depending on your knitting style, you may use less or more of the yarn stated.
This shawl has 5 pieces: square center (body) and 4 identical borders.
Traditionally these shawls are made as one piece, the pattern has grafting photo tutorial.
The pattern is charted & phototutorial.
