This is a written pattern for a medium size doily (about 15 inches across after blocking), made with Aunt Lydia’s crochet cotton thread size 10 and a steel hook 1.5 mm.

The skill level is advanced beginner. It shouldn’t be too difficult.

Before your begin working on this pattern, please note that your doily in progress will bow/cup up a lot. And I mean A LOT!
When I was working on this design, I reworked it many, many times to get a perfectly flat doily, but I couldn’t. I just couldn’t achieve it! I almost gave up, but decided to finish and block it anyway. And blocking made a huge difference. And I mean HUGE!
Just keep that in mind! :)
