Spring Blossom Blanket
Spring Blossom was designed for a CAL for early 2017.
It is made of hexagon motifs in 4 different designs. It is laid in a 9 by 9 configuration using half motifs to create 2 straight sides. The border is simple to complement the design.
The finished size is approx 165cm by 150cm
The hexagon motifs have a centre of either predominantly floral style or predominantly circular style, with an outer wide edge of a main colour. I chose a cream main colour and 3 colours for the centres in pastel shades - the floral designs and colourway reminds me of spring flowers, hence the name.
The original design uses Malabar Aran which is now discontinued, however, I have provided alternatives in the pattern. It can also be made using DK yarn, the blanket is slightly smaller and uses less yarn. Yarn quantities for DK are also included in the pattern.
The CAL commenced on 21st January 2017 when the first motif was added to the pattern. Further parts were published weekly.
The pattern page now shows the full pattern and alternative layout only. All previous versions have been removed.
Whilst the pattern is written in UK terms, US terms can be made available if requested.
