A triangular shawl that is worked from the bottom up (meaning it starts at the point and gets wider rather than is worked top down as many similar shawls are). The “blooms” in this shawl are often referred to as the dandelion stitch, a tutorial of which can be found here and in the document below.

The dandelion stitch is a nice way to add a bit texture and flair without having to memorize a difficult pattern. It looks soft and delicate, much like a flower and I think it’s fun to work as it’s something different. Don’t be intimidated by this stitch, it’s much easier than it sounds and is made by knitting below three times into the same stitch as you work your way across a row of the shawl.

The Dandelion stitch uses knitting below and knitting two stitches together in alternate rows to form the beautiful and delicate texture in this shawl.
