Spring Bounty
Spring Bounty is a triangular shawl with bobble fringe all over the bottom edge. Shawl is worked in pieces, from top corners towards the center. Each wing is worked separately, one by one. Once the wings are completed, they are joined and worked together top down. Garter stitch stripes combined with tuck stitch ribbing and 2 – color contrasting slipped stitch stripes assure the interesting knitting time and unique finished object.
Interesting construction eliminates the necessity to bind off almost entirely!
Measurements:
Shawl is 2 m (80”) wide and 80 cm (32”) deep.
Yarn:
Mesilyak from Q-Lana, 366 m / 400 yards in 100 g, 60 % merino, 20 % yak, 20 % silk,
Merino Silk 400 from Q-Lana, 400 m / 437 yards in 100 g, 50 % merino, 50 % silk,
or any other fingering weight yarn which knits up to the given gauge and drapes nicely.
Yardage:
MC1: 350 m / 380 yards (wine colorway, Mesilyak, colorway: Herzensangelegenheit)
MC2: 600 m / 655 yards (green gold, Mesilyak colorway: Goldstückchen)
CC: 240 m / 260 yards (white speckled, Merino Silk 400, colorway: Mehr Sommer, bitte)
Needles: circular 3.5 mm / US 4
Gauge:
22 sts x 40 rows in garter stitch & tuck stitch ribbing pattern after blocking.
Gauge is not crucial for this project but any changes in gauge may affect yarn requirements and the measurement of the finished garment.
Notions: 2 markers, blocking wires, stitch holder or waste yarn.
