I love big and cosy scarves. And SPRING BUDS is exactly that! It was designed while dreaming of spring, with a beginner knitter in mind, who has already mastered the garter stitch but can purl and is ready for the next steps in the knitting adventure: some increases (yo) and decreases (K2tog, skp). If you have troubles doing the skp, working the decrease as ssk will have the same result.
Feeling adventurous, we’ll throw in the German short rows too. Very simple, just take your time and you’ll master them in no time!

Will this be just another garter scarf? May be a garter stitch scarf, but definitely not just another one! It will be big and bold and soft and cosy with timid flowers popping up and a shawl collar to it! Drape it over your shoulders, or cinch it with a belt, or wrap around your neck and the collar will become the cowl!

Use larger needles than suggested if your style is firmer. The size is very generous when you achieve the suggested gauge (12st x 25rows /10cm). Cast on will become the length of the scarf (260cm)

The 2 yarns are worked together, however you can omit the mohair if you want, but please note the size might be slightly affected.

Feel free to use different colours for the buds (bobbles) but make sure you use them double stranded to get the big bud effect.

Chart for the flower bed is included in the pattern as well as a separate document.

Please let me know if you have any issues with the pattern and I can not wait to see your project!

Last but not least, I would like to thank to all my lovely testers - for their patience and trust with my work!

Happy knitting!
