Spring Bunting
With its bright pastel colours, this pretty bunting will liven up any room. The complete string of eleven knitted flags spells out ‘Spring’ but there are also flowers and creatures to mark the new season.
The bunting is knitted with six shades of DK yarn and cream used as a contrast on the striped flags. You will need about 20g or so of each of your colours.
The six striped flags have the letters for ‘Spring’ sewn on to them; these are simple strips of stocking stitch sewn round pipe cleaners and then shaped into the letters.
The rest of the flags have motifs sewn or embroidered on to them - three creatures and two flowers, all associated with Spring.
Knit all eleven flags or just some of them. String them together to hang them up or use a short wooden dowel to hang one decorated flag. You could knit the ones with the letters on this year and then add the picture ones next year … of the other way round.
