Pattern Details

Size: 1,(2,3).

Gauge: 16 sts x 26 rows = 4”/10cm in pattern in the round, using both colors, after blocking.

Measurements: Finished circumference: 16,(18,20)”/40.5,(46,51)cm.
Height: Version 1: 8”/20cm (length before pompom), Version 2: 10”/25.5cm.

Yarn: Chunky weight non-superwash wool in 2 contrasting colors.

Version 1: Main Color (MC): Spincycle Yarns Plump (100yds/100g) in color Bruised Ego. Contrast Color (CC): Brooklyn Tweed Quarry (200yds/100g) in color Sweatshirt.

Note: yarn requirements are so similar for each version, that I’ve included only 1 calculation. Pom Pom is included for Version 1.

Suggested needles: US 10 16” circular needles for main body of hat, US 8 16” circular needles for ribbing. US 7 (or one size smaller than size used for ribbing) straight needles if working Tubular Cast On. Longer needles in larger size for Magic Loop Method or DPNs in larger size for crown shaping. Use needle size needed to get gauge.

Notions: 1 unique stitch marker to mark BOR, 8 stitch markers for crown shaping, row counter (suggested), scissors, tapestry needle.

Construction: Hat is knitted in the round from bottom to top and in the round. Written and charted instructions for slip stitch pattern and crown decreases are included in pattern.
