Spring flowers blanket
Spring flowers blanket
The blanket is crocheted using the overlay mosaic technique. Although it might look difficult, it is made using simple dc and sc stitches.
The individual squares are crocheted from the center out, and joined together at the end to form a blanket. You can also use the squares to make a pretty flower pillow - only your imagination sets the limit.
The pattern includes a chart and written instructions for the whole square and the joining of the squares. Every round includes pictures to help you understand the technique and show you what each finished round should look like.
Also included is my tutorial on how to crochet overlay mosaic in the round. If you are new to this technique, this tutorial will teach you all you need to know, before beginning the Spring flowers blanket.
- Suggested yarn
Color a: 2 x Scheepjes whirlette, 100g/455m- “Ice”.
This is for all the the squares, the joining and the border.
Color b: 2 x Scheepjes whirlette, 100g/455m- “Liquorice”.
This is for all the squares and for
the border.
Color c: 1 x Scheepjes whirl, 1000m/215g- “Rosewater cocktail”.
You can use absolute any yarn you like. Thicker/thinner yarn with a bigger/smaller hook will give you larger/smaller squares, but the proportions will stay the same. If you use a different yarn than I have, use the hook appropriate for that yarn, and go down a hook size for the border.
