These socks are designed around a stitch pattern that uses two of my favorite things - Cables (or twist stitches) and lace. The cables give a relief effect to the stitches, making the pattern show up well even with variegated yarns. Used with the right colors of yarn, they give the impression of a floral garden trellis. Note the attention to detail on the heel, sides of foot, and toe - how the trellis comes to the edge and is finished off. This is an intermediate level lace pattern (advanced level overall) - suitable for someone comfortable with both cables and basic lace stitches. It is rather geometric and easy to count and memorize, but is not intended as a first or beginning lace project.

Finished size: US Women’s medium. Foot length 9 inches (instructions included for modifying length)
Gauge: 10-11 st/inch and 15 rows per inch in stockinette on 2 mm DPN’s
