Being tired of grays and blues, those somber colors of winter, I recently found myself yearning for the happier colors of the season ahead. So with brighter colors of spring in mind, I came up with this fun shawl. It is a simple shawl that even a beginner can knit. Its what I call an uncomplicated happy knit.

It starts with a garter boarder and is knit top down. The increases are made along the garter edge and spine with simple yarn overs. The end result is a triangle shaped shawl that you can wear as a scarf, a wrap or keep over the back of your chair for those chilly mornings of spring or the overly air conditioned days of summer ahead.

If there is a way to make happiness and bright colors contagious, this easy knit just might be it.
