Spring Shorty Socks
Over the past few months, I’ve really been loving knitting short socks. I find them quick to knit and very fun and cute to wear.
With spring approaching, I decided to dye up a pretty skein of yarn and cast on another pair. This time, I created a lovely textured lace pattern, and loved knitting them so much I decided to write up the pattern!
The stitch pattern is that magical combination of relaxed stocking stitch, and then a little detail. Before you know it, you’ll have a finished pair!
Sock Details
The socks feature a very pretty and cosy feeling stitch pattern. The purl ridges help create a very squishy fabric, and the eyelets give a sense of lightness. There are no complex stitches, so would suit all levels of sock knitter.
I have included a garter edged heel flap, as this ties in with the purl ridges in the pattern. I have included a video tutorial showing how to pick up the gusset stitches, in case this is a new to you heel. It’s super neat and tidy, and is a simple technique.
Sizes
The pattern comes in 3 sizes - Small (56 sts), Medium (64 sts) and Large (72 sts). The stitch pattern is both written and charted. Instructions are written for the magic loop method, but other methods can of course be used.
Yarn
The pattern sample is knitted using a skein of yarn that I dyed myself. I would recommend a solid, tonal or speckled yarn for this design.
For the size medium, I used 55g of yarn.
