Two styles of tea cosy in double knit yarn to celebrate spring

The pattern for the cottage uses charts for block colour knitting (intarsia) for the windows and doors. I have given a link to an excellent tutorial for anyone new to this. I tried a new technique using slip stitch for the windows and have included full instructions. (its much easier than following the block colour for small sections of colour)
The front and back walls are worked separately then the roof is knit in one piece across the top of both walls.

I have given ideas for the shrubs etc - but as i’m not great at embroidery use your own imagination and skills here!

The sheep on a hill cosy is an easy pattern which doesn’t use intarsia. The sheep are knit using separate lengths of fluffy yarn with the green or blue yarn held loosely at the back of work.

I used a slightly small needle than usual for the main knitting as this gives a thicker texture to give better insulation.
