Intimidated by lace? Try knitting lace with a sport or worsted weight yarn. I designed Springtime Loop as a project for a Beginning Lace Workshop I teach and the students love the project. This is a GREAT pattern to learn to knit lace.

Worked in one skein of sport or worsted weight yarn, this cowl knits up quickly. Using a heavier than normal yarn for lace makes it easy to see the stitches and 8 stitch repeat is quickly memorize. Perfect to show off that one beautiful skein you had to purchase but didn’t know what to knit..

Yarn
200 to 220 yards of Sport to Worsted weight yarns. Springtime Loop takes only one skein of yarn but will use all but a small amount of yardage so check your gauge and adjust the needle size or purchase an extra skein just in case.

I originally designed the cowl to use with the beautiful colors of Freia Ombre sport yarn. The colors are amazing and the cowl shows off the transitions. I also love the deep colors and wonderful feel of the Baah Shasta yarn. The lace lightens up the worsted weight and makes it perfect for a accessory for all seasons.

This pattern contains both charts and row by row written instructions together with helpful hints.
