Sprinter Beanie
Sprinter Beanie - a lightweight slouchy beanie hat with contrast colour at the cast on edge, as well as a vertical stitch that is carried up in the knitting. Diagonal 2-stitch cables lead up to the path of the vertical line and appear on both sides of the hat.
Tools
3 mm (US 2.5) (or size required to get gauge) circular needles and/or DPNs when stitch count at crown becomes unmanageable; 2 Bobbins (or pegs); 5 Stitch markers; Tapestry needle & Measuring tape.
Gauge
28 sts by 40 rows in Stockinette and 36 sts by 40 rows in Ribbing. Both over = 4” (10 cm), unblocked.
Size and Fitting
To fit head circumference: Small: 19” (48 cm) / Medium: 21.5” (54.5 cm) / Large: 23” (58.5 cm). The finished hat length is 9”-10” (23 cm - 25.5 cm) approx. The brim has a negative ease of about -5” (-12 cm).
