The Sprocket Sweater is a classic fitting top with a not-so-classic striped yoke. Slipped stitches create the sprocket “teeth” colourwork, and are a fun and easy way to change colours while adding some interesting detail to the pattern. The Sweater is knit from the top down and in the round using fingering weight yarn and has folded hems and cuffs to create a very polished finished sweater. This is a great pattern for playing with yarn to create your own unique colour story.

Needles & Notions
US1 / 2.25 mm and US3 / 3.25 mm circular knitting needles in a variety of lengths to work small and large circumferences in the round (or size to obtain gauge), tapestry needle, stitch markers, a locking stitch marker or safety pin, scrap yarn or stitch holders.

Gauge
30 sts x 38 rnds = 4” / 10 cm in Stockinette Stitch in the round on larger needles, blocked.

Notes
• Sweater is worked from the top down and in the round.
• For sizes XS - XL, one set of 20 g mini skeins should be enough yarn to complete the yoke colourwork, depending on yardage, for sizes 2X -7X you will need slightly more than 20 g of your last two contrasting colours. Make sure to check the Yarn Requirements and Finished Measurements chart carefully for your size.
• I’ve included a folded hem for the collar, cuffs and hem of the sweater, but you can substitute a 1x1 or 2x2 rib if preferred.
• When working the colourwork yoke, you can use either the chart or the written directions.
