The Sprout Cowl is a project that can be worked with different yarn weights. The pattern written here is for DK weight, but can easily be substituted with different weights. It is suitable for those left over yarns we have in our stash or those yarns we bought on impulse but don’t especially know what to do with.

I named this cowl with the help of 2 knitters I’ve met during the regular Men Who Knit Zoom Call. It’s crazy that because of this pandemic, I was able to connect with male knitters halfway across the world. The sprout concept came because of the seed stitch pattern variation used in this cowl. Long story short, seeds sprout. I was convinced to call it the Sprout Cowl right then. The Subtitle came in later, when it was suggested that because it’s essentially my swatch for another project, Swatch out would be cool! So, shout out to Joe Wilcox and Gabe Marquez for helping me out with the name. Thank you so much.
