Spruce Grouse Socks
This pattern will be available for purchase on June 26th.
These socks are written for knitting in the round from the toe up using the magic loop method. There are two toe shape options (rounded or wedge), a Chevron Rib Stitch design made up of a simple combination of knit and purl stitches on the inseam and leg, a Turkish heel (which features a heel flap and turn but no gusset), and three leg and cuff options (ankle sock with double-thick cuff, ribbing cuff, or crew sock with ribbing cuff). Photos, stitch charts, and written instructions are included.
One 100g skein of fingering weight sock yarn should be enough, depending on the size and options chosen. Choosing a solid/tonal colour with good stitch definition to show the texture of the ribbing and textured stitch patterns is highly recommended.
This is the third pattern in my Spruce Grouse Collection, and my debut sock design. The chevron texture design was inspired by the tall evergreens in our lush, West Coast forests. Though these socks are knit in one solid colour, the different textures give them subtle visual interest.
This pattern has been fully test knit by knitters with a wide variety of experience.
