This textured, assymetrical cowl is big and cozy and perfect for layering! Thanks to the chunky weight yarn, it knits up quickly!

Pattern Details

Size: one size

Gauge: 17 sts x 23 rows = 4”/10cm in pattern, after blocking.

Measurements: 26”/66cm wide x 30.75”/78cm long at longest point.

Yarn: Chunky weight woolen spun non-superwash wool.

Suggested yarn: Brooklyn Tweed Quarry in color Slate.
Slate is a discontinued colorway; Soot is a close color substitute.

Yarn requirements: 54g/108yds Brooklyn Tweed Quarry. 1 Skein.

Suggested needles: US 10 24” or 36” circular needles - cowl is knit flat and a cord at least 24” long is recommended to hold all the stitches. Use needle size needed to get gauge.

Notions: 2 stitch markers, row counter (suggested), scissors, tapestry needle.

Construction:

Assymetrical cowl is begun with I-cord cast on. Increases and decreases are worked every RS row to create the shape of the cowl. It is then finished with an I-cord bind off and the sides are sewn together with Mattress stitch.
