DETAILS ON HOW I CONSTRUCTED MY SAMPLE BLANKET

I used 2 skeins of Caron Jumbo Ombre in “Blossom”. I deconstructed the skeins into the 6 separate colors and rolled them into balls. I used a size J hook. I made a total of 12 squares. It worked out so well in my opinion, I had enough of the two lighter colorways to make 4 squares in each of those 2 colors. I also had enough of the 4 darker colorways to make one square in each one.

To join my squares, I used a tight join using SC and I joined them continuously. (Less ends are my favorite. LOL!)

The yarn I used for joining is Lion Brand Pound of Love in “Sugar Cookie”. After all of my squares were joined, I continued around with 2 rounds of Moss\Linen stitch in the same colorway as the joining yarn. Two rounds of Moss\Linen stitch in 2 colors from my left-over balls of yarn from the Caron Jumbo Ombre. I then did 1 more round of Moss\Linen stitch in the “Sugar Cookie”. After that I did one last round of Moss\Linen stitch in the same color I planned to do my (MODIFIED) Rick Rack Border with which was the light pink color in my Blossom colorway.

(IMPORTANT NOTE: I worked all SIX rounds of Moss\Linen stitch with SC, chain 2, SC in each of the CORNERS.)

MODIFIED RICK RACK BORDER

Working on the foundation of Moss/Linen Stitch. Its SS, DC, SS worked in chain 1 space. Skip next stitch. SS in next chain 1 space. SS in next stitch. SS in next chain 1 space. SS in next stitch. Repeat from * to * all around, making 2 SS, DC, 2 SS in EACH CORNER.

SS = Slip Stitch.
