This pattern can be made in any gauge, any stitch pattern, and any size you want.  It’s meant to be fiddled with and you should only need the actual pattern itself for maybe the first and second bag.  After that it should come really easily to you.



One technique that may or may not take your fancy is the 2 stitch i-cord, but it’s my absolute favorite for bag ties.  It’s not as thick as a 3-4 stitch i-cord and I also find that it’s a bit easier to make and less of a pain in the butt.
