Square Holes Sweater
Errata available:
artyarns.com
The "unmitered" squares that make up the sweater are constructed in the opposite way of traditional mitered squares; the squares are increased in every row instead of decreased and bound off. This leaves all the stitches live on the needles, and no picking up of stitches or cutting of yarn is required. The holes or cut-outs are created with a bind off followed by a knitted cast on. The multiple directions of the knitting automatically patterns any variegated yarn in an unusual way.
Requires three 1/2” buttons, sewing needle, and matching thread.
