Square ‘n’ Fair - Lacy Crochet Square Margarethe
The Square ‘n’ Fair - Lacy Crochet Square Margarethe is a lacy crochet square that you can combine to make almost everything: e.g. sweaters, vests, tops, cardigans, scarves, shawls, headbands, hats, mittens, wristwarmers, skirts, purses, wallets, totes, scrunchies, collars, appliqués, insertions, book or journal covers, tablecloths, place mats, glass coasters, pillows, window or door decorations, bedthrows, ornaments for greeting cards … :)
…always depending on the used yarns, gauges and combination methods.
The photos show the Square Margarethe combined to a scarf and crocheted with cotton thread, packaging string, two coloured and the different sizes when worked with different yarns. Further below you can see the different elements you get when downloading the instruction.
The PDF (~705 KB) contains:
- the diagram of the square,
- several matching diagrams to the square (’elements’): a rectangular half square, a triangular half square, a ’squeezed square’ and two patterns for matching ‘ribbons’ to fill ‘gaps’, make straps etc. (see pictures at left),
- some ideas on how to combine the different elements,
- project ideas about what to do with the elements,
- photo and text descriptions of the used stitches in order to easily identify them (not meant as a tutorial) because different terms are used for the same stitches in British and American English.
