Square Off Shawl
This shawl came about as a way to play with the impact that the spacing of stripes has on the look of a design. This is a simple pattern which uses garter stitch and basic shaping to form an elongated diamond. Only one colour is worked in any row so it’s an easy way to play with colour. The geometric lines of this shawl suggested black and white to me, but any strongly contrasting colours would work well.
Yarn The Knitting Goddess Britsock (4-ply weight; 60% wool, 20% alpaca, nylon); 400m/437yds per 100g skein2 x 100g skeins in strongly contrasting semi-solid shades, or one semi-solid and one multi-coloured yarn.
Shawl shown is worked in Black (colour A) and Cream (colour B).
